Life Church is an exciting, enthusiastic Christian community which is currently operating with a hub in Bedworth and many different expressions throughout the Nuneaton and Bedworth borough.

The congregation has been established for over 40 years and is part of the Assemblies of God network of churches. The church has a congregation of around 350 people meeting each Sunday and a whole host of different church community expressions reaching the surrounding communities Monday to Saturday.

In order to ensure that continued growth can be sustained over the next period we are seeking a Children’s Pastor to cover maternity leave.

Applicants need to note that this is an important role in the life of the church with the role holder being skilled to effectively develop, communicate and implement the vision of the children’s ministry within the framework of the larger church vision.  Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel who can demonstrate the above qualities.

Applications need to be received by Sunday 11th February  and will be subject to an initial paper sift. If successful at paper sift, applicants will be invited to an interview to be held on 14th or 15th February.

Ideally we would expect the successful applicant to take up the post on the 19th March 2018

Children’s Pastor Job Description

Description of Duties

To effectively develop, communicate and implement the vision of the kids ministry within the framework of the larger church vision.

Ensure the effective running of all Life Kids operations  including administration (Life Kids Sunday, Life Tots, Impact and any future projects as the vision is outworked)

Lead and develop a team of volunteers required to effectively deliver all aspects of Life Kids. Provide ongoing training for such volunteers

Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are in place, regularly reviewed , appropriately owned, and properly monitored

Acquire and develop a Life Kids ministry curriculum that is creative and engaging to the small group and large group structures within the children’s ministries. This should be regularly reviewed and monitored

Develop ways in which Life Kids can connect with children and their families

Work with the Youth Pastor in developing a strategy to transition children from year 6 into the youth ministry of church

Ensure that there is a high level of pastoral care and support for the children involved in Life Kids

Ensure that children grow in their love for God, and are equipped to succeed in every area of life

Oversee  and administer kids  budget and resources

Effective leading and developing of the core team

Ongoing development of future vision and Life Kids strategy as is evidenced in the yearly Department Ministry Plan

Working under the leadership and management  of the church eldership and the senior management team.

To effectively work as part of the Life Church staff team, fully engaging in our management, training and appraisal processes.

Program planning

Fundraising in order to generate new projects and future growth.

Communicate as appropriate with parents concerning kids activities

Maintain  open and effective relationships with others in & outside of Church

Ensure your own spiritual life is maintained and developed

Interact and understand the views of others in leadership of the church

Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences

Build effective communication with schools and implement school assemblies

Support the vision and values of the leadership

Ensuring the outworking of the goals as outlined in the Department Ministry Plan
