LIFE CHURCH – Operations Manager

  • Salary: £18,564 – £24765 depending on experience
  • Full Time 37.5 requires some evening and weekend work


Life Church is an exciting, enthusiastic Christian community which is currently operating with a hub in Bedworth and many different expressions throughout the Nuneaton and Bedworth borough.

The congregation has been established for 40 years and is part of the Assemblies of God network of churches. The church has a congregation of around 350 meeting each Sunday and a whole host of different church community expressions reaching hundreds in the surrounding communities Monday to Saturday.

In order to ensure that continued growth can be sustained over the next period we are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to bring leadership and strength to our operations team at Life Church. If you are passionate about church and equipping others then this may the job for you. You will need to have relevant operational and leadership experience, be motivated to start and finish tasks and get your hands dirty with some of the practical sides to church life!

This is a full-time position, that requires some evening and weekend work.

Operations Manager Job Description

Description of Duties

Manage and improve our operational systems and processes including Church App, Trello, Calendars and bookings and others.

Be responsible for the Life Church properties and equipment, ensuring that what we have does what it needs to do and is safe, secure and visibly pleasing. As part of this you will lead a small team including the cleaning and maintenance staff as well as managing external contractors. You will also oversee our stewards and car-parking teams.

Ensure that operationally we are legal and meeting requirements. This will include being responsible for Health and Safety and other relevant training.

Run our conferencing and external bookings department, advertising our facilities to third parties in order to generate an income as well as ensuring that all groups that do use our facilities have a great experience. Please note that this may involve some physical work of room set up and pack down.

Liaise with all our in-house users to ensure that they can provide an excellent service.

Examine and manage relevant financial data to ensure cost effectiveness.

Recruit and train a team of volunteers and staff.

Ordering and stock management.

Implement, review and enforce relevant policies and procedures.

Have weekly meetings and regular training sessions with the Operations team, alongside covering for them Pastorally and Spiritually.

Contribute towards the short and long-term organisational planning of the church.

Be a member of SMT with shared responsibilities for staff culture and spiritual health
