Noah's Ark Staff
We have a dedicated and experienced staff team, all of whom have suitable childcare qualifications. All our staff are police checked and there is always a first aider available on the premises. Staff regularly attend training to update their knowledge and practice. Our high ratio of staff ensures individual attention is given to the needs and development of each child. Our ratio is 1 adult to 3 children for under 2’s, 1 adult to 4 children for 2 year olds and 1 adult to 8 children for 3-4 year olds. Every child is placed in a small group, with an allocated member of staff known as a Key Worker. They are responsible for keeping records and assessments of each child in their group.
Pre-School
The Pre-School is open Monday – Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm during term time, offering sessional, extended care with lunch club and full day care to children from 2-5years old.
The Pre-School is registered with Ofsted and is regularly inspected on its standards of care and education. We are also registered to receive the Nursery Education Grant, which entitles children to receive 15 hours of free care and education per week, the term after their 3rd birthday.
The Pre-School operates from a large room offering a range of activities and experiences that support children’s development and allows them to learn through play, based on the principles and guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage. A typical session starts with a period of free play, during which time children are able to move around the room independently and take part in child initiated and adult directed activities that are planned according to the needs of individual or small groups of children. During this time children also have the opportunity to play in our outdoor learning environment. We also operate a snack bar system during the session where children are able to sit and enjoy a snack together. After tidy up time we meet for Key Group Time, when children meet with their Key Person to share songs, stories and news together and take part in focused activities. These are specifically planned to support the group’s individual needs and stage of development.
